Well, I've been a workout routine now for over 4 weeks. My good friend Jessi, is acting as my personal trainer and accountability go-to. She has me doing 15 minutes of Kundalini Yoga spinal warm-ups every morning before breakfast. This has worked wonders in strengthening my back and spine. I've had back issues for a while, and actually have a herniated disc, but with yoga and other forms of fitness I have been able to curtail it from acting up.
I also started the Goddess Belly Dance Workout with Dolphina two weeks ago. It is so much fun and quite a nice workout at 50 minutes. I do it every day! I am not bored with it yet! I have always wanted to learn to belly dance. I plan to take an actual class when I feel proficient enough with the at home videos.
I have also just added on a two mile walk in the afternoons to burn extra calories. I am feeling fantastic and incredibly motivated! I have been logging all of my calories. I cannot stress how much that has helped me stay on course with eating. It is a habit well worth making! I also keep a personal fitness blog where I share things with my friends and family. Another of my goals is meditate twice a day for 20 minutes. I started doing this a while back but fell off and now I regret it. It was incredibly helpful in strengthening me in my resolve to stick to things and had a fantastic calming effect on my mind. I will be taking that back up for sure! I'm very excited to be here on Sparkpeople again and plain to really stick with it this time. I'm getting older and I am determined to enjoy the mid-life years in good health, with lots of energy for traveling and staying active.
