Today is my last day at the piddly pay job, hallelujah, for this week. I work 3p - 11p.
My mind and spirit are still reverberating from my AHA moment (re, yesterday's blog). I take this as a wonderful, promising sign. A paradigm shift has occurred. Or as Dave Ramsey would say that his grandma said, "The worm has turned", LOL. (Never heard that saying before Dave.) I thought it was real change yesterday, but now I'm sure.
(I was homeless last summer, and am presently staying with a church family who took me in.) I feel free to do anything I want in the mornings here as I have my host's house to myself (mostly). (Tho there is a 19 yo here now). Still, I do personal things like take showers, cook, and do laundry in the mornings when I have the house to myself, when the amount of utilities I'm using is not a constant in-your-face reminder to my hosts. No they're not stupid of course they know, but, I prefer to be always discreet.
It's always a disappointment when they have friends & family over unexpectedly on one of my few nights off, or are at home sick during the day, etc. Hello it's THEIR house. It will make me appreciate my apt even more when I get one after I get a job.
Now that I've had my AHA moment I need a new plan, a real lifelong plan, for exercise. I just dabbled before. Now I'm serious. Plenty of resources to do exercise planning with here on SP!!! There are a couple things I want to look up, like 3 on 1 off, and Reinhard's (re, yesterday's blog) shovel, I'm not sure what I have in ministorage (do I have a shovel or snow scoop?), and I need to get my DVDs out of storage, definitely, and bookmark SP's 10 min exercise vids. Also put a new battery in my pedometer and start wearing it again. I will revamp Fitness Tracker to match the core etc I'm doing, and schedule exercise into my daily life. And so it begins; my new life.
Meanwhile, the plan yesterday was that today I'd just walk around the neighborhood. And work on the exercise plan over the weekend. Walking is simple, easy, available everywhere. I imagine in the future it will be my down-time exercise for rest days; but right now it's cardio in and of itself. So I set the alarm for 8am to get up to go walking this morning. They are always gone by 7:30 - 8.
But the man of the house is home today, he must have taken today off. (I hope he's feeling okay and is not sick.) If I had known, I would have went to bed sooner after getting off of the piddly pay job last night instead of staying on the computer til the wee hours; if I had known I would have gotten up at 6a or earlier to go walking this morning.
But I'm not going to be seen doing other things than job hunting this morning at home, while I can be observed, and during a mid-morning time frame. I am, after all, living off of them and have been here too long (even if I do provide my own food, t.paper, and other necessities, and take care to mooch off of them as little as possible).
I'll definitely go to bed immediately after getting home from the piddly pay job from now on, so I can get exercise in first thing before there can be interruptions or other problems with other people, and I'll start walking early in the morning; and today I will leave for work 2 hours early. I'll use one of those hours for walking. Not sure where yet. Near work is not good so I'll go somewhere else.
