Fun Fitness Friday

One more day before the Spring 5% challenge starts. emoticon

Today's day started with sleeping in until 5am (I am such a sloth!), then heading to the gym for my workout. I will do my squat/pushup/crunch work later here at the office.

Dinner tonight will be at Applebee's. Dh and I always get the 2/$20 special. Steak and baked potato for me, please! Too many dieters avoid red meat thinking they are saving calories. The steak is often the lowest caloried food on the menu.

So my day is planned and I am planning to be fit. What is your plan for Friday fitness?

    Baked potatoes are also great with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese - about 5-10 calories for a cheesy flavor.

    Sounds like you have an enjoyable evening planned. We've only eaten at Applebee's once, I can't remember what we ordered but Rod's blood sugar shot up really high, really fast. He had to take multiple insulin shots trying to get it to come back down and it took several hours before it was back to a normal range. It was pretty scary. We don't eat out much because a lot of restaurants seem to put fillers (starch converts to sugar quickly) or sugar (not enough to taste but enough that subconsciously the food tastes better to you) in their food. If we do go out to eat it's usually at the local Steak Restaurant for steak, baked potato and salad.

    I was shocked when I found out that steak can be lower in calories than chicken at some restaurants. Thanks for the reminder.

    I can (and do) eat my baked potatoes with just a little salt. Applebee's does their potatoes perfectly so they are really creamy. Yum!

    You might try salsa on the baked potato... or a bit of sour cream. Potatoes are healthy; it's what we put on them that makes them outrageous! Have a great time. JOY emoticon
