Reboot Successful!

Friday, May 10, 2013

I think I had a major sleep deficit or something... but after a few days of going to bed early and sleeping in, I'm feeling so much better and not having any food cravings. Yessss. Sleep is so important.

Juicing is amazing. It makes getting my micronutrients every day a complete no-brainer, so I can focus on my protein/carb ratio and good fats for my meals (without worrying about incorporating a million veggies in every meal to meet my micronutrient goals). I've been trying to focus on high-fiber veggies at lunch and dinner, since I don't get any fiber form juicing. Lately we have been grilling outside, enjoying this weather. I love grilling; it adds so much flavor and 0 calories. So, my meal plan lately has looked a lot like this... Breakfast: juice and eggs. Snack: berries and veggies with hummus. Lunch: grilled chicken salad with homemade dressing and avocado. Dinner: grilled meat or steamed fish with high-fiber veggies. I believe it's been easier to stick to my healthy eating since starting juicing... I hope it continues this way!

Yesterday I made that primal chili that was on my meal plan. Oh. My. Gosh! It is so good. I love to eat it with half an avocado sliced on top. It's so filling and full of veggies and flavor.. I froze some in individual containers so we can make some chili/cheese covered baked sweet potatoes later.

I haven't weighed in since the slip-up because well, why do that to myself when I know I'll be bloated with water. So I've been trying to work off the water weight these past few days with walking. I plan to weigh in tomorrow, keeping in mind all the progress I've made over the past month... a small gain won't defeat me. I'll bounce right back, and I'll definitely have a loss next week.

Wow, you are in the zone! I don't think I've ever seen you so balanced! So happy that primal eating has been your miracle plan. That is how the Lyn-Genet plan worked for my body. Everything just worked and weight loss became natural instead of a constant struggle.

Lately I've fallen in love with making zucchini and carrot veggie "noodles" with my Titan veggie peeler. So eager to hear how your new veggie spiralizer works!

Your food sounds soo good! I have never been much of a red meat eater but I def want to try some of the recipes you've mentioned...Mmm!Its amazing how much difference an avocado makes.

emoticon Great job getting caught up on your sleep. When I'm tired, I tend to make poor food choices.

I did juicing for breakfast for a while and I felt great doing it. I wish I had more time to do it in the morning because it was a great start to my day. Way to go on making the reboot count!
