Elliptical - 40 minutes yesterday
Tracked my food yesterday a bit on the high side of my calories but not over my intake.
Yesterday I was doing some research on chlesterol and iron levels numbers and ended up on the Livestrong website. A title caught my eye and off I went to see "How to get rid of flabby arms without doing push-ups" Now I have nothing against push-ups (especially wall push-ups) but the flabby arm portion caught me. So a trainer shows you how to work the upper body. So of course I PINNED IT!
This morning as I'm lying in bed awake I actually get up to do this workout. Now she uses 3# weights and recommends 10 of each exercise x 3. So I'm thinking 3# weights is nothing I can do this.
I couldn't do more than one set of 10 of each exercise (about 5 exercises) using the 3# weights. Are you serious body? Perhaps my bones or strength was still laying in bed and hadn't gotten up yet!!! But really... one set using 3# weights!!!! arrrggghhh
Okay I got work to do. I'm trying to focus on strength training more and this was my first move towards getting better. On top of that I did 10 squats. Now I only had 10 minutes to spare so no full workouts. For ME...this is progress. I've been saying I'm going to get up and get in a workout before work for the longest time. I haven't done it, just rolled over and waited until it was time to get up. However, I know God heard my sincere prayers last night. Oh I was a mess last night on my face before God. I needed help and He is my Help and can keep my business like no other. My heart was cracked, my spirit was dropping and I needed some answers.
So after I got up and did my 10 minute workout I was in praise mode. Although it's Friday and the end of my work week - I'm inspired that I can start this and increase my time in as few as 2 weeks or less. I just had to start.
My workout last nite was light but it's been almost 2 weeks since I've been on the elliptical and over a week since I've worked out. I think today I'm going to create a workout schedule for myself. I need to switch things up a bit -more consistently. I've been really good this week with my meals and drinking my water. Our church group plan was to eat meat and veggies and to weigh daily. So I've been pretty obedient to that although I don't agree with weighing daily. I have been doing that. I was down another 1.5#s since yesterday but I know how weight fluctuates so I'm not hanging on that but it was encouraging.
Got to stay focused, got to keep logging my food and got to get better with hitting my workouts a bit harder and challenging myself to push past my comfort zones. I can do this ... 48 more days to go - what can I accomplish in 48 days? Only me and time will tell
