Should I go or should I stay????

Friday, May 10, 2013

My evening walk was fast approaching however I was hesitant, not because of the heavy rain through out the day, it was the foreboding sky. Was not the usual greyness of a storm fast approaching , but billows of black clouds that seemed to grow with every gaze until they became one & hung heavily through out the town. The fear I had , it looked any moment like lightning was going to slice threw the darkness. My brother urged me to go on the walk as he felt it would not rain as of yet.
As I headed northward the sky along the mountain ridge seemed to grow darker with every step I took. As I headed high above the banks of the river I could see in the distance a sliver of sun shine,oh what a relief, I bounced along with the beat of the music & have my thoughts in other places. As I pushed onward the sunlight slipped back under the dark covers of pillow clouds. This time for sure I thought I would hear the crack of thunder even through the music, I pushed onward at a more faster pace, rounding the bend in the road I saw a golden glow on someone's door & the tree leaves had a light casting on them, here again in the darkened clouds the sun peaked out,but slipped back under quickly. I had 1 more mile as my goal I need to push onward, I felt like Mr. Sun was giving me the go ahead, almost like his light was telling me to go on. ( okay I can dream can't I that he was encouraging me to go on !!!! ) I carried on & finally made it to my car, I did 3 miles. WOW!!! As I drove up the driveway to my home a huge streak of lightning lit up right behind my house. I quickly gathered up my things & as my foot stepped up on the porch a crack of thunder pierced through the quiet neighborhood, & like the gates of a dam the sky opened up & sent torrents of rain. The sky lit up with streaks of lightning bouncing all over. As I flung the door open I called out to my brother I made it just in time, he said I told you it would not storm while you were walking!!!

Just think of all the beautiful things you would not have seen had you stayed at home. Glad you got to enjoy them all.
