I am so very thankful for today as I am for most days. My daughter has prom today.!!!! A very happy day indeed. One I am so very glad is here.
Having a heart condition all my life one that now requires a pacemaker makes me so very happy I have made it this far. The fact my daughter and son are both here is a huge blessing also.
I was told I could never have children, due to my heart condition and that the outcome for them and me would be grim. My husband really wanted children and I left the decision up to God and my son was born healthy . Then we were told by an expert that we would be okay to have children , I may be in danger but they would be fine.
The pregnancy for my daughter was not joyous at all. They realized there was trouble with her heart early on so it was constant monitoring for us both. We were reminding every visit she could die I could die. She may not live long after birth , I could have a stroke. The geneticist had to go rewrite his book because her condition was not supposed to be hereditary.
I am happy to say she was born relatively normal but with a slow heat rate. At the age of four she suddenly developed a fast heart rate and needed a pacemaker. She has been active and fit ever since.
Now you know why I am so positive and happy she is a reminder of a rainbow every day I look at her and her brother. There is a rainbow in the fact that I am also doing so well. I made all the way to age 45 before I needed my pacemaker.
There are rainbows in the fact that Sara has found a lovely boyfriend who treats her well, and respects her. He may be a little older , but they are good together . She is off to college this September and on her way to being a doctor.
My son Josh is living with us and does not have a job at the moment but he cooks excellently and brings joy to my life everyday.
My husband has been with me for over 20 years. All though he is a spur of the moment kind of guy who loves to throw money out the window and is prickly at times we are still in love.
I am so lucky to be well enough for exercise and to be able to hold a job. .Mostly because I eat right,
drink my water and get my eight hours of sleep. I am lucky to say I see rainbows everywhere. Some days I need to look very hard but they are there hidden under the doctor bills, and the stress of life.
Always look to the sky for rainbows believe me they will be there when you need them.
