...::::well, Friday is just a sneeze away, right? Lol. Hang in there! TGIF!
I can remember when I was huffing & puffing when running a 1/2 mile. I never thought I'd actually ...:::ENJOY:::... running! Isn't it simply amazing what all of us are capable of doing when we just Go For It!
Tonight I ran the longest I've ever run. I ran 4 miles!! ( I know that's not long for most of you runners out there, but you have to begin somewhere...Lol.)
My time was 49:30.... my avg. pace was between a 9:30 min and 11 min mile. with walk intervals lasting 20- 30 seconds every quarter mile. I found myself beginning at a slower pace and increasing my speed with each mile.
I am inspired to follow Jeff Galloway's way of running. The walk intervals I take enable me to run faster and longer....making my run gentler on my knees too.
I tried to catch my mile times...here they are: mile 1 - 13:30, mile 2- 12:00, mile 3 - 12:15 and mile 4 - 11:75.
Afterwards, my body felt strong and refreshed. I was happy because I've never run that far before without stopping. I hadn't expected to feel so great! I sure am tired now though...Lol.
This is my first long run in a line of future long runs. I look forward to getting closer to that
