Our containers of tomato plants are covered in little green "gems" and we can't wait for them to ripen and eagerly anticipate the first juicy bite. I hope we beat the birds to them. We have cucumber plants with cute little cucumbers that my grandson planted and the both of us enjoy checking on their growth every morning.
The kale is finally mature enough to harvest and I wanted to use it before the heat forces them to bolt, so I made a huge pot of kale and sausage soup for dinner. I toasted some slices of artisan bread and it made for a very satisfying dinner.
