Have You Ever....

Thursday, May 09, 2013

Been in a situation that made you feel uncomfortable at work? I was in that situation today. Someone came to my cube, and proceeded to "warn" me about my boss. The same boss I've had for 12 yrs, the one I get along great with. The whole mostly one sided conversation was along the lines of don't trust what the boss tells you, unless it's in writing, etc, etc. Not only was I very uncomfortable listening to all his BS (because that's what it was...from someone who's been here about 3 weeks and knows diddle about any of us), but it was inappropriate and unprofessional of this person. I made a few comments about how the boss always has our backs, etc. But this person didn't back off. It pissed me off and bothered me that this new person would talk about my boss this way. So I decide that I would talk to my boss. I do so and he was happy I did. The boss understood where I was coming from and agreed with me that the new person (a temp) was out of line to be talking to me about it, The new person should have gone to the boss if there was problem. So now I feel better. emoticon

Update on hubby's daughter and baby twin boys. All are home now. Mom will have to take heart meds to get her enlarged heart to go back to normal size, and the boys looked so cute in the play and pack. We're all blessed that they are all home and doing great! emoticon

Dinner last night was Kalbi ribs. Since the Hawaiian place always gives you a lot of ribs, hubby and I ate just half of each of ours and we'll have the other half tonight. I had half my mac salad and a bit of rice. But I was full and didn't want that over full feeling, so I think I did great! I;m going to have a green salad with the ribs tonight. emoticon

I skipped my banana this morning in favor of two scrambled egg whites. It's OK to change it up sometimes. Lunch was what I always have..salad with Greek yogurt. emoticon

I did 61 mins on the treadmill today and have walked over 10K steps so far today. I'm happy with that! emoticon

So that's it for today. One more day until the weekend gets here! emoticon Have a great rest of Thursday!

You did the right thing to report the incident to your boss. I don't know how long the BS-er has been part of the company, but they obviously had no idea your boss is really a decent person.

Of course, the problem may be this person is having their own issues with the boss and they b!tched and moaned to you looking for sympathy. Some people just enjoy complaining. And then, this person may be disgruntled and have their own issues. Some people are never happy. Glad you consider your boss a friend and told them what happened.

Wonderful news about mom and the twins. Everyone must be thrilled.

That is great news about the twins and their mama! Can't wait to see some pictures of them. Are there other kids in that family? I know you told me once, but I'm old...what can I say...

That was very brave of you to go to the boss. You've probably got a friend in him for life now.
