Well, I now only have 20 pounds to reach the century mark! Hmmm, maybe I can reach the century mark by going on a century bike ride this summer! That would be pretty sweet. I had 3 people stop me in the last 2 days to ask how I have done it. I am making sure to get the sparkpeople website out there. It is changing my life slowly and still canít believe it is free. Actually it is changing it fast in some respects. I never thought I would be this far along this quickly. I have slowed some and now instead of it coming off a pound or so a day seemingly, it is going in increments. I will drop 2 pounds in 3-4 days. Which is still about 4lbs/week.
I am actually thinking I may be getting close to dropping a size soon. My pants are feeling looser and the ones I thought we fitted weird actually feel pretty comfy now if not loose. I will probably still wait a few weeks to go out looking at clothes and trying new stuff on, except for shorts. I need shorts desperately. My favorite ones from last year fell off when I tried them on. I am saving those babies though. If nothing else they will be a reminder of where I started.
Ha, here is one I just remembered. I had my 9 year old step on the scale. She has noticed the changes in my losing weight and also has been hearing me talk about it with other people. Itís a fine line, I donít want her thinking she is overweight and she seems proportionate to me. But she was struggling to get a grasp of how much I have lost. So, I told her to get on the scale. She did and weighs in at 74ish pounds. So, I said do the math. At that point I had lost 76. So she looks at me and says, if I lost as much weight as you, I would be negative! I said yep, I am no longer carrying around a Munckin, It is amazing. I have lost more weight than my daughter weighs. I could theoretically go backpacking and not notice wearing a huge pack. I know one thing, I will not miss it. I will be loving it next time I climb a hill on my bike.
On my walking Tuesday I noticed I was walking at a much faster pace than I have in years. I have these ideas of how fast I should be going doing different things. On a bike I always shoot for a 15 mph average. While walking I always shoot for 4 mph. Driving is a certain speed on the highway and city. Well you get the idea. Walking the other day I actually averaged about 4.3 mph. I havenít hit a speed like that walking in years.
Ah well, I am just sort of amazed by my progress and hope to keep it up. Although like I told a friend, this is the second time I have really lost a lot of weight like this. So I am getting good at the losing part, I need to figure out how to keep it off this time.
