What's The Point?

Thursday, May 09, 2013

I live with my husband, Jack, and my two daughters, Allie, 25 and Erika, 22, plus my grand daughter, Everleigh who is Allies daughter. My children live rent free, don't have to cook or clean except their rooms, which are pig stys, so basically do nothing around the house. I watch Everleigh 3 to 4 days a week while Allie goes to school.
Anyways to my point.
Allie came home from school today and I wanted to show her my blog from yesterday. It is my second blog and I was excited that I had even done it. It has pics of Everleigh in it. She took one look and said why is she in your diet blog? I said did you read it? Her reply was WHAT'S THE POINT? emoticon
I thought to myself, what is the point? Nobody cares as long as they are taken care of.
The point is it's time to take my life back!
It's time for me!
I have to take care of myself first then I can take care of others. I need to put the I, and ME and a lot of NO back in my life or goals won't get accomplished. I'm going to set a goal for me, for them to accomplish one task a week, fingers crossed it works.

Unfortunately, it seems that your daughters are in extended childhood. It is time for you to take care of yourself. If you wear yourself out, then you can't help anyone.

-_- First of all I care... You inspired me to write a blog and sparked some great thoughts for me and I'm sure many others.

Second of all... don't cross your fingers. Your children are in their mid twenties and live rent free in their mom's home, along with you taking care of one of their children. They have no excuse to not to one thing a week for you. If not I would "charge" them... Like a reverse allowance. Maybe not rent but five or so dollars here and there so they realize that your time does cost money!!!

You spent your life raising a family now it is time to go back to the basics... you! Keep pushing and you will get where you want to be!!! Let's do this!

Good for you! I believe you are seeing this from the right perspective. Taking your life back not only helps you but also helps those around you by inspiring them and letting them learn to find their own strengths. Continue posting pictures and experiences here because SP is more than just about dieting, it's about our livestyles and experiences!

Well people here on SP care! Writing a blog is a huge step. I kind of just lurked around SP when I first got here. The more involved I got, the better I did.

I'm a teacher and while I don't know your daughter, I wonder if she isn't frustrated about some things herself?

Continue to take your life back!

Good luck!
