I joined sparkpeople many years ago with some success only to gain my weight back.. because I like to eat! I am very aware that my poor eating habits developed at childhood. I rejoined sparkpeople last year and was slow to start my journey.. I got on track in September 2012 and lost 30 lbs by February 2013. I am blogging because I think it will help me keep going. I have fallen off track and I feel my jeans are tighter around my stomach and thighs. I refuse to buy new clothes. This is to remind me how far I have come and I can and will meet my goal by this fall (Oct. 2013. emoticon

    Hello! I just followed you from the Orange County Sparkteam where I just posted my intro. It's great to see a local Sparker.
Like you, I join SP several years ago and am recently getting back on the wagon. My 1st time with SP, I didn't really do anything. Just looked around and tracked for a few days, then stopped. My first weight loss was with Weight Watchers. I lost 12 pounds in a relatively short time. However, the group that met at my job disbanded while our company was relocated to another city. I then fell off the wagon and never seemed to get back on it in the new city.
At the end of 2012 I was at my heaviest so I decided to try SP again. Now I'm 19 pounds lighter and sooo happy!

    I love to eat, too! I totally understand! And I hate buying new clothes also, lol!

I think what worked for me was having one cheat day a week, usually Sundays.

I also learned to make healthier varieties of my favorite foods. I found a pizza recipe on pinterest where you use a portabello mushroom as a crust!

I just added pizza sauce, cheese, and bell peppers and I have myself a healthier pizza. (I know cheese isn't healthy, but I just budget those in as my calories! lol) It was fun to make, my daughter loved making it and it was enough to curb my craving for pizza!

    I understand exactly how you feel, I joined in 08 and lost a few pounds, but I get bored really quick with diets, so now I weigh more than I have ever weighed. I know that I need to lose weight, but I just can't seem to control my eating for more than a few days at a time. I hope that you can get back with the program and stick to it, if so please send me some encouraging tips.
