Sooooo Busy

Thursday, May 09, 2013

The last couple weeks have been so busy. My mother who is 86 yrs needed to come up here to live. When my sister passed away last year my niece took mom into her home. She got to where she couldn't take care of her any longer. I finally got my mom a small apt. in an assisted living place. She loves it and it has worked out well. She has her freedom yet all her medication and needs are taken care of.

Started birding again. I did it when I was younger but didn't have time to continue. Love adding birds to my photography hobby. It gets me outside and walking which makes my doctor happy. Had my 3 month check and my A1c is down to 7.1. Great accomplishment for me. Not long ago it was over 12. Lost 12 lbs. in the last 3 months so doctor was supper happy about that. Have a lot to do today. Try to keep up better in the future.

You are certainly a fantastic problem solver as far as finding what works for your mother. I am so glad it worked out for your family.

Congratulations on the weigh loss and better A1C!

    I'm a birder too. I love it!

Great job on your A1c. Definite improvement. Glad your mom is settled, it is tough with aging parents. Mine are still in their house and my Dad is 89 now. Not sure how much longer before they need to go to a condo or a one level home.

I can relate to how busy you have been. Since I am the 84 year old mother who is making a living change. Building a new house next to my daughter's home in Florida, I will be moving from Las Vegas when the house is completed. I guess change is part of life, but I sometimes wish I could just vegetate for a while!
