Hulu workout and other coffee ramblings

Holy moly. I did another of those core fusion workouts on hulu and I’m pretty sure tomorrow I will not be able to walk. This one was a little different, a little less pilates but still crazy hard for how ‘simple’ the movements seem. The first segment was arms and I started using my 5lb weights. I had to put those down quickly and switch to my 3lb. Which seems crazy but when you are doing 20 reps and then the next one continuously it’s bound to heat up those muscles. I should have known better when I saw she was using 2lb weights. I ran out of time so I didn’t do the ab section (2nd to the last) but I have no doubt that one would have been crazy hard for me too.

I tried my protein shake a little different this morning. I saw on pinterest a smoothie reciepe so I kind of winged it and I’m not sure how I like it to be honest. I mixed coffee (caramel flavored, warmly brewed which I think was my first problem) and then the protein powder (caramely flavored, I can’t remember off hand what the actual flavor is) and a banana. I think my issue with it is the banana isn’t mixing well with the other flavors. The coffee and the protein powder should taste good together but then the banana is really powerful and almost tastes like fake banana and that isn’t great. Next time I’ll make the coffee the night before and chill it and just mix it with the protein powder. Lesson learned. But now that it is all drank and I have had entirely too much coffee :)

Meow is back at the vet today for his all day visit to see how his blood sugar is. We’re up to 5 units so hopefully it is lower and good to go. He is such a chunk so I’m looking forward to seeing how much he weighs.

The Farmer’s Market is this weekend so I’m looking forward to that. I’m nervous but it’s an excited nervous. I also have my first 5k Saturday night so that should be fun. It’s a 5k for Amanda the Panda so I’m all about it. They are having a festival afterward with food and a band and fireworks so it should be a really fun night.

    I'm loving the workout and will have to put them into action. I don't usually check out HULU for workouts but I will start. Thanks for sharing and I'm glad and excited for Meow's progress and your Farm'ers' Market project. Things are looking up. emoticon

    Oh! That's 'Exhale's Core Fusion!' LOVE those guys! I have the 30 Day Sculpt DVD, which is organized GREAT, only 20 minutes per workout ('easy,' like you say) but it's intense, isn't it?

    I'm a huge fan and recommend that DVD. You don't have to do the 30 days as they assign, you can also just mix them up but it's fun that they've prepared it for you.

    I don't have internet at home, so streaming anything isn't workable for me. You may prefer to access for free with HULU since you have that ability.

    Actually the shake sounds awesome..I wud add ice and do a crusher smoothie and add half a banana to leave it smooth and thick but not too banana-ey...
    I have to now try coffee in my shake tonight...hehehe
