just checking in

Thursday, May 09, 2013

I can't wait to be able to write and say that I am normal again but just can't do that yet. I am pretty weak today and even though I am drinking the highly nutritious drinks (750 calories a day), I am losing weight. Now 103.5....that is way more "cushion pounds" than I need. Seems like a long time ago that I was blogging about my anticipated "splurge" as I had a couple of planned "cushion pounds" to play with. Can't wait until that is a challenge again.

I say thank you again so much for all your continued support and cheering me on. This is really hard. I am trying so hard to remain positive but it is hard. I sure have something weird that they cannot diagnose. The doctor says that my immune system is really whacked and even though they do not have a diagnosis they would be treating things the same. I continue to follow their direction and pray that things get better.
HOpe you all have a good day.
Sallie

I'm sorry to hear that you are not feeling well again. I thought that you had all that mess under control. I haven't been visiting Spark much. So I haven't been keeping up much with my spark buddies. I hope that there is a good solution to your problems and that you are back in the pink really soon

Sallie you haven't been bitten by a spider or something have you? Have they checked that or for ticks. I had a nephew that ended up in the hospital because he was too sick to eat and they found out he had a tick. I know they have probably checked those things but it has to be something and you have been put through the wringer.
I pray that they found out pretty soon,

emoticon to you, dear Sallie, as you continue to weather what must feel like an endless ordeal with an enemy whose nature isn't truly yet understood. It sounds like your doctors are supplying you with good supportive medical therapy right now, the best they - or anyone else in the world - could offer. Certainly, they're carefully attending to your nutritional needs.

Once you're stabilized - and there's no doubt you will be, though I know you'd love to see the light at the end of this terrible tunnel - I like MEADSBAY's suggestion of perhaps getting a second opinion at the Mayo Clinic. I'm sure your doctor would be willing to provide the paperwork Mayo would need - it's something to think about, down the line.

Continued healing to you. So much healing occurs when it really feels like nothing's happened yet... Keep getting as much rest as you can, and keep your eyes on that prize down the road - some nice restaurant celebrations to help regain some of all that weight you've lost due to your illness. All the best, Susan

Thanks for checking in, Sallie. Although I would love to be a few pounds below goal rather than a few pounds above, I can see that what you are going through is no fun at all. Hang in there, Sallie. Wishing you well. -Marsha

I know you are very happy with the quality of health care down there but maybe you should consider going up to the Mayo Clinic and getting a full work-up there.
They have a world-wide reputation as medical problem solvers.
I'm worried about you, Peanut.

I was thinking about you and your splurge cushion pound blogs yesterday... I do hope you are back to your normal happy self soon Sallie. You are doing great. Wish I could come by to keep you company and cheer you up a bit.
Are you getting your facial today? Thursday is usually your day for facials isn't it? I hope you do. You need to keep up some of your routines. Don't let this get you down. Keep the faith and keep doing what feels right.

You are the eternal optimist and funmaker and it's hard when things get tough! Without our health, we feel like we don't have much!! Hang in there, don't give up the search, it will be hard, but it will get better. Keep pushing, keep seeking, enlist more medical opinions if you need them. For now, it sounds like you are doing the best you can with the information you've been given at this time and embarking on an eating plan with merit for RA. What helps for systemic inflammation will help with most everything. Get the rest that you need -- we'll be here! Hugs, Sara

It always amazes me how they can transplant almost everything, keep hearts from stopping, replace joints, downsize your stomach, but often can't diagnose things that are not immediately tangible.

Keep the faith, Sally.
