Hey everyone. Been away for a bit but have a whole new inspiration to carry me through the next 6 months and hopefully keep me Sparkin. Finally made it over to the Y for my official beginning weigh-in for the Healthywage.com 10% challenge. I was thinking high 180s but was shocked to see 194.75 on that very expensive looking doctor's scale. At least I hadn't shrunk so that's good news and I wasn't completely naked.
Now that the nice gentleman verified me in the system I have 6 months to lose 10% or 20.5 pounds. I'm not even messing with halfs, I'm going for 21 or more. This works on another level as well as I've got a half marathon at the end of September that I want to run at 170 or less. That would be about 15 lbs lighter than my 1st HM last year and I'm hoping that'll mean me a little bit quicker.
Here's the deal: if I make it and lose the 21 pounds they'll double my "investment" and I get $300! If I don't they keep my $150. Always changes things when you've got some skin in the game. If it sounds good and you need an external motivator head over to healthywage.com. They even have a free BMI challenge where you get $100 bucks with no money down just for getting to a healthier BMI! How cool is that? But DO read the rules! Like you have to take a starting pic even after you're verified and you have to weigh-in weekly. Miss 3 weigh-ins and just like in baseball you're out of the challenge and out your money.
