I Like MOSTMOM1's (Shelli) WOO HOO cards!! Template Suggestion?!

Wednesday, May 08, 2013

MOSTMOM1 recently had a videoblog about her WooHoo game...

And of course, I haven't asked her yet (Shelli, are you reading this??) whether she made up a whole bunch of WooHoo cards all at once, or if she cuts each one out at the time she decides she has a WooHoo to write out and put into Captain WooHoo Jar.

But...I thought, hmmm maybe I could make a WooHoo card template out of my prehistoric Word program and then get some nice SparkPeople colored papers (you know, red, orange, green, blue), to print out some pages of this template, cut them out, and then when I have a WooHoo I want to save, I will already have some slips of paper ready to Write and WooHoo on!

Of course, my template will have to be black and white, because I'm still a Luddite and only have a black and white laser printer. Thus, my idea of using the "colored paper" as a cheat. I suppose it could be done in such a way that people could print it in colored ink, but that's between you and your printer. And your pocketbook. For that matter, I haven't looked at the price of colored papers lately. Hmmm Well they do go on sale every so often...

Let's see if I can bring up my Word Document as a link... and maybe I should do it as .pdf as well??

Ohhh well, hmmm maybe not. The uploader says it "must be an image." Hmmm What to do?

Okay, so I've taken a screen print of my Word Document Template, as an end run. Now you can see this as a miniature of my suggestion. It really needs professional help, and the official SparkPeople gurus can maybe doctor it up and work their magic and include it as one of the community tools. Hopefully that, and not a Cease-and-Desist Order from their corporate lawyer, offering to meet me at the Court. Ehhh...

So, I saved it as a .JPG image. Here goes:

So, think of this as a sketch of my idea - but in "real life" it prints out in landscape orientation on Standard Letter Size paper 8.5"x11" (USA standards, which I realize are warped, compared to International paper sizing standards. Sorry!).

I wasn't bright enough to figure out how to minimize the SparkPeople logo that I swiped and make it lower right corner flush, kind of like the SparkPeople "You've Been Sparked" cards, which you can see here:

Anyway, that's my thought for the day, but I'm fading fast. I may have to edit this later. My husband just came home, the dog just came inside, and the teenager is driving me up the wall. Time to go for a walk!!

I loved Shelli's idea as well but I am not as creative. I just write my wahoo's on strips of colored paper and stick them in a covered oatmeal box. My non-artistic version of Captain Wahoo.

THANKS! I read her blog (and yours) and it is a great idea. I told her that this reminds me of my "blessings" notebook where, at the end of the day, I write down comments on a special blessing(s) that day. Thanks for sharing! emoticon

Those cards are cool! I agree that they should be on a Member Tool page!

    Good luck!

I like it! Can't really be of much help other than to tell you that.

Oh yeah, and I've got a teen making me crazy too! Maybe we should get our teens together so they can drive each OTHER crazy and not US!
