I'm Finally In The 260's!

Wednesday, May 08, 2013

So it's been awhile since my last post...

We have been going to the gym 2 times per week for 60 minutes each visit. We do 30-40 minutes of cardio on the treadmill with the remainder of our time doing the various weight machines available. When I first started the weights I was doing 30 pounds and I have slowly worked my way up to 50-70 pounds depending on the type of machine. I'm proud of my process in terms of my weight training. The treadmill has been going good so far and I try my best to increase the incline and speed at every visit. I got up to incline 4 with a speed of 3.9 which isn't too bad for someone just starting out.

On the days we don't go to the gym I take walks to make sure I keep my exercise up. I've been watching what I eat and have been able to get more fruits and veggies that were on sale at Food Maxx. For lunch I've been making a sandwich with whole wheat bread, half a tomato, and half an avocado. I also tried california sprouts (alfalfa-clover) on a salad and a sandwich and it wasn't too bad. I tried eating it by itself and it tasted horrible but as long as I have something else to go with it I can actually manage to eat it.

I hit a plateau for several weeks. My weight was fluctuating going up down up down but it FINALLY went down to a lower weight that it hasn't been at for a long time. I am now down 268.4 pounds which is awesome. I'm trying very hard to get my weight down to my goal weight of 200-220 pounds because of my height and my build. I know my body is changing very slowly but as long as I get there I will be happy. My doctor's appointment is coming up in about a week and a half and I'm hoping I can get my weight down a few more pounds. It's been about 2 months since my last appointment and I'm hoping I lost at least 15 pounds. I can't remember what my weight was last time but I think it was 278 or something around there. I think I can lose 5 more pounds but it's going to be tough. I have these boughts were I lose a lot of weight and then stop and then there are times I don't lose a lot of weight for a long time but then all of a sudden it will be reflected on the scale.

Sounds great! I have the same problem. I won't lose much and then a couple weeks later I'll lose a bunch and then back to nothing again. Its hard to work so hard and not always see results. emoticon emoticon
