safeway coupon rant

Wednesday, May 08, 2013

Okay call me dumb but maybe im not the only out there .

So i have a safeway club card and great you get deals if you had the card . I always thought you got the price that was on the sticker. Today i was wrong !

I bought the Kens Salad Dressing , I learned that unless you go to the just for you section or U section of the website and add a deal to your card you wont get that price .

Before I went to the store and even in the store I checked and my card was registered .. So i figured im covered BUT no you have to hit add to it all

So after speaking with the manager if I would have clicked add to my card , I would have got the 3.49 sales price + the U save $1.00 off & MFT $ 1.00 bringing my total to $1.49! !

Learned a few things today and also will be paying more attention to my coupons and savings .

I mostly shop at FOODLAND and the card is simple , you have it you get access to all the deals.. theres no such things as oh well YOU forgot to add this so thats why YOU didnt get it .

Alright I got it , Safeway makes you work for your discount ..

2.49 still a good price for a bottle of dressing but 1.49 is a lot better

oh and wouldnt you know that i logged on to add my coupons on safeway and the site is down . just my luck .

okay rant done

Okay, thanks for the heads up. I no longer have a physical card (lost it years ago) so I haven't registered with the U Save portion. I don't shop at most of the major grocery stores very often, but when I do, it is for specific sale items. Would hate to pick up something I thought was at one price and find out it's more.

WOW! I didn't realize that! I thought the card automatically gave you the savings :(
