Coach Becky did a lesson on the hunger scale today. i needed this reminder.


Hunger Level Sensations and Symptoms
1 Starving, weak, dizzy
2 Very hungry, cranky, low energy, a lot of stomach growling
3 Pretty hungry, stomach is growling a little
4 Starting to feel a little hungry
5 Satisfied, neither hungry nor full
6 A little full, pleasantly full
7 A little uncomfortable
8 Feeling stuffed
9 Very uncomfortable, stomach hurts
10 So full you feel sick

It is best to eat at 3 or 4 and stop at 5 or 6.

How do you do on the hunger scale?

Today I let myself get #1 because I was out shopping, got home by 2pm and had my chicken.

Lately going to bed at night I feel #7

I need to get myself back on track soon! emoticon

    When I managing my hunger I am doing well. I am a little tired now and it is mor challenging.

    I occasionally get to a 2 when I'm out and about, but fortunately I don't eat until I'm a 9 during that time.

    I think about the hunger scale quite often. I need to work on my idea of satisfied being "no longer hungry" rather than "full."

    I like this. I think before I joined Spark, I would eat myself to a 9 or 10. I need to work on eating only when hungry though, and having more water, as opposed to saying hey what am I eating next?

    Last night, I got to a 2 and what happened? By the time I ate enough to feel satisfied, I was over calorie. I know better than to let myself get that hungry, but we were eating dinner late and dag, I blew it, I guess. Had a long exercise morning that day too.

    A good reminder. I heard on Spark Radio this morning the term "Hangry" - -meaning the point at which you get crabby and irritable because you're hungry (combination of Hungry and Angry). When I get "hangry" is always a good time for me to eat something!
