GREAT NEWS!!

Wednesday, May 08, 2013

Start next week I am going to go swimming at the Natatorium here in Orange, Texas!! I'm very happy about it and can't wait to get started. Now I already know how to swim I started to swim when I was a little girl, my family and I always go to the lake and go to the swimming pool with friends and that was a long time ago.
Anyway does anybody have any advice or suggest for me like what I mean is do you think I should take my time and not to rush it, it is better to have a empty stomach or a full stomach something like that.
Well can't wait to hear from you about this and everybody have a great day and I will let you know how am I doing on this.

I can just tell you what I do before my swim workouts. I swim at 5:30 am, so it is on an empty stomach, just some water. For meets and open water swims I eat oatmeal and half a banana at least 1 hour before swimming. When I was swimming at 6:00 pm I would have a light snack, a small piece of cheese and an apple around 4:00 pm. I just feel better with only a little in my stomach, even though I can be starving afterwards. I drink a zero calorie vitamin water on the way home and then wait until after showering to eat. The water curbs my hunger.

I never wore a cap, but now my hair is longer, so I wear a cap and put conditioner in my hair before swimming to counteract the chlorine. Do you have a good pair of goggles? Do you have a kick board and pull buoy or does the pool have some you can use?

Be sure to swim where they have lifeguards, don't swim alone. Don't dive into the water without knowing the depth, get out of the water if there is thunder or lightening, keep a floatation device in reach, stay away from the drains, be careful getting in and out of the pool, don't swim when you are tired or when your stomach is full.
