My World In Photos Hike Part 2

Wednesday, May 08, 2013

This was Friday late afternoon when I went to see if the beaver were out:

Their pond is close to the train bridge and I was surprised to see a train stopped on it:

The beaver was there having dinner, but just the one:

I was surprised to see a muskrat join in eating, neat how they get along.

The muskrat spots me:

Then it was time to see Stars On Ice. I tried in vain to take some photos, but the first row was too high and I was dealing with heads in the way most of the time so had to be fast to try get an opening:

A better shot of the women, you might recognize the American champion Ashley:

Kurt Browning did a fantastic dancing in the rain number:

Then it was Saturday and we went for a quick morning hike along the river trail to the weir:

The chewed tree stumps made perfect butterfly perches:

Close up:

The birds really gather on the island just above the weir:

Heading home through the trails, we came upon this bird on the shore, a tern.

This is the trail along the island:

I just learned how to resize my photos, using Windows live photo gallery!
So now ones that wouldn't load are :)

Would like all of you to get out and explore the green spaces in your area and take photos and share the fauna and wildlife. If 1BEACHWALKER can do it with a phone and take videos with it too no less, so can you! She lives in a gorgeous green year round Florida and has so many beautiful things to take photos of, you should stop by and see them! But even a place like mine, with longer winters than summers, can be beautiful too.
Have a Wonderful Wednesday!
Hugs,
Linda

Love your photos. Looks like you don't have a lot of green yet. Hope you get some soon. It went from cold winter to summer in a couple days here in Illinois.

Well, aren't you sweet to mention me and my blogs, etc.! I would love to see all my Sparkfriends to do photos like you just did and I do. It really encouraged me in the beginning to get out and walk! Our phone pics never have to be resized, wonder why you have to do that? Glad it worked out...loved the photos! The beaver and muskrat are so cute and the butterfly so unique!
I think Kurt Browning is the best skater, next to Scott Hamilton! I saw Kurt skate to Singing in the rain when we went! Loved the whole show! Bryan Boytano was there too. The pics came out good, all of mine were dark.
Have a great day and thanks for your nice comment on my blog Linda. Such a good friend! Hope you are doing ok! emoticon emoticon

Wonderful! I thoroughly enjoyed your blog, especially the muskrat with the beaver. Nature is glorious! I do want to take more pictures in some of the gorgeous places I run and ride. Wish my camera wasn't so bulky, but will figure out a way. Thanks again for reminding me of the beauty. I've seen 12 different kinds of butterflies in my yard today and a flock of over 20 ibis. Again, thanks. So glad you are enjoying the great outdoors!! -Marsha
