Why I'm Motivated to Lose Weight

Wednesday, May 08, 2013

Iíve needed to lose weight for a long time, but I never had the full commitment thatís necessary for actually getting it done until now. So whatís different this time? I realized how many activities and events are or will be impacted by my weight and I donít want it to hold me back anymore. I recently started my own business, and I would like to look and feel better for meetings, and be able to wear more professional clothes. I also turned 27 in April and I want to get healthy while Iím still young so I can enjoy shopping where I want and wearing fun clothes when my friends and I go out. Being 27 also brings with it another set of events: weddings. In 2013-14 I have four weddings to go to, and one in June 2014 is one of my best friends. I want to be able to look back on pictures of weddings and vacations and be proud, not embarrassed. There are also other little things that my weight holds me back from that Iím sure many of you can relate to. Things like being too heavy to go on a water slide or roller coaster, being embarrassingly out of breath doing an activity with friends when no one else it, and only being able to shop at a few stores that carry plus sizes. Last but not least, in October the Color Run is coming to where I live and I would love to participate and take lots of pictures and look/feel healthy doing it.

So those are my reasons for motivation to lose weight, and they have helped to keep me inspired so far. If you relate to any of my reasons, or want to follow me on this journey I would love to have some company to join me. I know we can do this together! In my next few entries I will show some of the things that I use to keep me on track, as well as some ďbeforeĒ pictures.
