About ten years ago my daughter introduced me to natural peanut butter. Natural meaning the only ingredient is peanuts (and it needs to be refrigerated).
This is the daughter who in fourth grade became a vegetarian, is into everything organic, and has a yoga studio. ( I could really learn a lot from her…)
Anyway, back to the peanut butter...In the last ten years I have only used natural peanut butter, usually a brand called Teddybear.
My youngest son just joined a store called BJ's. It's a store that you can buy things in bulk, and boy, did he. One of his purchases was a huge (gallon?) double jar pack of Skippy peanut butter. His new favorite snack is peanut butter and banana sandwiches (wasn't that Elvis's favorite?)
I stuck a spoon in the jar (part of my mindless eating habit) and was I ever shocked. It was so sweet it was like a dessert! I didn’t like it. I checked the ingredients and sure enough, the second is SUGAR.
I had heard your taste buds change, and now I can testify IT’S TRUE.
