Loving Life Day 114 May 8, 2013

Had a nice day yesterday, spent time after work outside with my granddaughter. She wasn't as thrilled with her new bike as I was, which was kind of disappointing, but she hopped right on it and rode it down the driveway. I am so proud of her! She was a pistol last night though. Tired and cranky when she got to our house, and then wired when it was bedtime. I wish both of her parents were consistent when it comes to keeping to a schedule for naps and bedtime. Bedtime is pretty well kept up, but naps are hit and miss, and when I get her after a day of hiking (yes at 2 she is hiking) without a nap, well anyone who has had a cranky 2 year old around understands....

I hope to get out for a lunchtime walk today, and although I would prefer to walk by myself I will ask one of my co-workers if they want to go with me. There were 4 of us that started out on our lunchtime walk yesterday, 3 of us finished the 4 mile walk in 60 minutes, the other one dropped out after the first mile. Today I will see if that 4th person wants to walk, and we'll walk slower than yesterday. I felt bad that we didn't slow down to his pace, but yesterday was a planned 4 mile walk, and in order to get it in within an hour, we had to keep up the faster pace. Today I'll suggest a 3 mile walk in the hour, that way the pace will be slower. We are doing the Eat Well Live Well program at work, and I would like to encourage others to be more active and to walk during lunch. Yesterday's walk wasn't very encouraging to this person I'm afraid. emoticon

Goals for today:
~ read my mantra
~ 80 oz water
~ 10,000 steps
~ lunchtime walk - remember to use sunscreen before I walk
~ Enjoy time outside in the sunshine
~ find out how to use my twitter account! (still haven't gotten to this one yet!)
~ make reservations for our trip to Nashville - stop at the travel agency after work
~ 15 flights of stairs
~ keep an open mind
~ journal every bite
~ weigh and measure food today
~ journal thoughts and feelings surrounding eating today
~ smile at least once an hour
~ learn something new and remember what I learned
~ eat a fruit or vegetable with every meal and as one snack today
~ laugh out loud today
~ focus on this lifestyle I have chosen for myself and don't sweat the small stuff
