At this point, there wasn't a big change in the diet other than the addition of Pasta and some new soup recipes. It was whole wheat pasta served over fresh tomato with a sprinkling of Parmesan. I hadn't though of serving it with fresh tomatoes. I was a bit reticent but tried it any way. It was better than I thought it would be. There was a lentil soup that I really liked. It prepared quickly. I'm used to soups being an multi-hour affair. The tomato soup is also really good and really hit the spot when I caught a cold.
Over the 4 weeks I was on the meal plan, I enjoyed the vast majority of the meals and lost 8 lbs. I learned some great new ways to cook vegetables that taste great. I can feel a real difference in my overall health, not just a smaller waist line. I'm going to adopt many of the rules permanently.
The book itself was easy to read. The chapters are short, and to the point. I got through it in a few evenings. Each rule is backed up by scientific studies, but not at a level of detail to overwhelm you.
