Hiiiiiieeeee. My name is Jessica.
I am 24 (August 2, 1988) and I have been dealing with my weight my whole life. The first "diet" I ever went on was when I was 13 years old, and it has been the same pattern for 10 years.... 15-25 lbs off, then 20-30 lbs on.... 15-25 lbs off, then 20-30 lbs on.... and that pattern has repeated more times then I can even remember. In 2012 I decided to get the lapband surgery done. I needed to stop the cycle I was putting myself through and commit. It's been a struggle for sure. No matter how much research you do, or how many people you talk to, nothing can prepare you for what your body/mind go through after bariatric surgery. I paid out of pocket for my lapband surgery, as well as my fills. It has actually made me realize exactly how bad my food addiction actually is. I am not giving up though. I am also struggling with a thyroid condition that I have had a very hard time getting under control.
At 5'2, my goal is to lose 69 lbs.
Surgery Date: August 9, 2012 at 198 lbs
Today's Weight: 173
Goal Weight: 129 lbs
The purpose of me starting this blog is really not to talk about the lapband though. I feel like I am really no different then anyone else trying to lose weight whether they've had bariatric surgery or not. I just need some support. I feel like I need people who can understand what I am going through. I need motivation, and inspiration!
A little personal information about me though (the fun stuff!). I live in San Francisco and I absolutely love it. SF is my heart and soul. I have a cute puppy named Sparkles, and I love all animals. I also have an AMAZINGGGGGGGG boyfriend who I totally want to get married to and have a bunch of his babies lol. I've traveled a lot, and lived in London as well as Florence, Italy for a year and I have this insatiable wanderlust. Unfortunately I don't have the time or money to travel recently. I love good food and good wine.
