Double chin and armpit fat slimmer

Tuesday, May 07, 2013

Yeah, an old high school friend of mine put that on Pinterest today. Sure, I'd LOVE to do a workout just for my double chin and armpits!!! Sounds like a winner!! Unfortunately, the link doesn't work, so I can't make fun of it more thoroughly.

This kind of stuff just makes me sad. That and food labels that are so misleading. People who don't educate themselves just don't have a chance! I think that business and the bottom line have a lot to do with the "obesity epidemic" or whatever it is... I know it's ultimately down to us to treat our bodies responsibly, but face it, (especially where I live) not everyone has the intelligence to do that. It is completely irresponsible for any food establishment to serve one entree with over 1000 calories in it. Make it smaller. And if all the food places did that, it would be less easy for people to consume so many calories without paying attention. But they won't, because bigger is better and draws in the customers. And the chemicals keep them coming. And then there are the people who kind of try and just rely on "healthy" marketing, when actually a lot of those products are full of crap and chemicals instead of real nutrients.

But at least if you are working our your chin and armpits, you're probably moving a little, and I guess that IS better than just passing out on the couch.

I totally agree. I think it's completely wrong that people need to educate themselves in order safely navigate the minefield that is the American food industry. Kind of like going to a doctor - you expect them to have the answers because they are the expert and inherently you should be able to trust them. It's a shame that it's so difficult to go to a restaurant and just have a meal that's healthy and nourishing. You have to educate yourself first. If you're not paying attention, chances are pretty good that you're going to eat way more than any person should eat in one sitting. And people do it all the time.

The problem is that people WANT those 1,000 calorie entrees, and then a quick fix pill to remove the weight from what they perceive as their "problem areas." Doesn't work that way, and that lifestyle would still be mega-unhealthy even if they did have slim chins and armpits!
