Yay! I have lost 4 pounds so far! Woohoo! I know that it's slow, but I don't care. I am very happy with my progress. It is so much better than no progress or even worse, gaining. I must be doing something right! This makes me so happy (and encouraged)! My diligence is paying off. :)
So far I have been sticking to my planned diet and focusing on being happy with and excited about all the healthy foods I do eat (fresh fruits and veggies that I love), and avoiding feeling like I am being deprived of the junk foods (they are unhealthy anyway and do bad things to my body), and being proud of myself for making healthy choices.
Another thing I have been doing is a small and simple workout. I am starting out small in the hope that I will be more likely to stick to a workout if it is small and simple, plus it is much easier on my arthritis and aging body to start out slowly. But I intend to grow my work out slowly in the future as my body can handle it. It's only about 30 minutes a day so far (20 mins on eliptical, some mild yoga, and a few strength building exercises) but I have been sticking to it so far.
I have also been investing a lot of time and energy into gardening this spring. It has been a lot of fun so far and it keeps me active and I am really excited about growing my own fruits and vegetables to support my healthy eating and lifestyle. I have already been eating some collards and early lettuces from my first harvest this spring.
