Alright...it's ON, cuz i just bought this bikini:

I've been stalking the internet, flagging styles I think I can live with-no point in even going to the stores because the tops are usually laughable. And manufactures assume if you're big up top, you're big all around. emoticon

I decided to just poke around on ebay to see what brands I liked that might be available for cheaper...call me crazy but spending $150 for a freaking bikini or swimsuit of ANY kind is absolutely insane, IMO. But since i AM taking two nice trips to beaches, I figured i needed to step up and get a proper swimsuit, and NOT the clearance rack, ill fitting number i currently own. I saw this suit, and it had all the elements I was looking for: underwire, bra-sized, higher cut bottom. So.....we'll see. I might put it on, freak out, throw it in the back of my closet and crawl under the covers. emoticon

I have 114 days to get myself to a place where I'm confident wearing this in public. 16 weeks. 4 months. That's still plenty of time.

I did dust off my 8lb weights last night and did some bicep curls, tricep curls, laying on your back raising your arm thingees, and some crunches. It's a start on the ST front. It still confuses me...what to work WHEN, how many reps ( I just did 2 sets of 12 reps for each exercise) then how to integrate that with my other workouts. Yes, Zumba Toning and Sentao are cardio, but they also have a lot of ST elements: squats, pushups, crunches, not to mention lots of ST style arm work, albeit with just 2.5 lb weights.

So that's all I know today. I can't believe i pushed the "commit to buy" button, but I have a feeling that finding just the right suit will be a process, and this one had most of the things I was looking for, more in fact that most of the ones I had flagged elsewhere. It still has the tags on it so worst case scenario I just re-list it. I'm really hoping that having it IN MY HOUSE will push me to stay on course.

You can do this! I love the suit! I've been thinking about ordering from Lands End because I can send it back without spending any extra to do so. They are more expensive, but should fit better and be more supportive in the right places. Plus I'm signed up for their emails so sometimes I can get things for 25% or 40% off.

As for strength training, don't make it into a strict science, it doesn't have to be a certain number of reps, just keep challenging yourself and pushing a little further each time. The only thing to watch for is that you don't do 2 days in a row, give your muscles a break in between to rebuild. I will tell you that if you were in my Sentao class, I would be challenging you to do harder moves, I'm always looking for ways to increase the workout and challenging my class to try. Proper form helps too, make the pushups and planks straight, hold those planks for a long time; when doing squats and lunges keep as upright as you can.

Best of luck to you! You are going to look awesome!!!

This top looks like it will be a great fit for you! The straps look studry, the cups look supportive! And overall it's VERY CUTE and flattering! (Love the little buckle/tie on the hip!)

I also love that you will have a physical/tangible thing to keep you motivated! I think that will be a very powerful influence on your choices till your trip!!! Rock it, Girl!
