Spark streak

Tuesday, May 07, 2013

Well... that pesky nighttime eating is not getting better. I've had a spark streak of 4 days of too much and junky eating at night.

SO... what happened on sparkcoach today? A discussion of spark streaks!

I'd already decided to remove any trigger foods from the house (not an issue - there are really only two of them) but I like the spark streak so much better! I do have one going for log-ins and I know I have a great one for tracking EVERYTHING, and even though the software doesn't work for it, I've got a great one for drinking water (I am talking about the software because occasionally I've logged the rest of my water the next morning, and even though I put it into the right day, I don't seem to get spark streak credit for it. Not a big deal.

But now... the most challenging spark streak for me of all: ONE snack per evening. I have a list of healthy snacks on the fridge. A "snack" will be defined as between 100 and 200 calories (I know it should be between 100 and 150 - maybe that will be my next streak). Night eating is my nemesis. And this is a big week for emotional eating - my last day of teaching was yesterday, my son is coming home from college, folks are coming to finally haul many of my mom's and dad's things away (FINALLY) and I have to go through a lot of things ahead of time, and am finding out things about them that are bringing up hard memories or are things I wish I hadn't known. Oh, well, that's life, right? The GOOD things? I get to start my new work adventure and I LOVED teaching! My son is coming home from college! I'll be free of all of those objects! The behaviors of my parents were long ago and I have a FABULOUS family now!

Well, that put a smile on my face.

Hope you're all having a wonderful day!

Nightime eating lately is an issue for me also. I cleaned out the kitchen of junk type food. Good luck with your new business venture....and have fun with your son.

My son comes home the 15th. I can't wait to see him! He is finishing his sophomore year at Virginia Tech.

Maybe plan your snack ahead of time, and log it. Then when its time, there are no decisions to make.
