One kiss and a bite

Tuesday, May 07, 2013

My secret for controlling my chocolate and sugar cravings has to do with two small things: a kiss and a bite. Every afternoon, I eat one Hershey's kiss. If I am out with friends and want some dessert, I take just one bite, close my eyes and enjoy it to the full.
Studies have shown that most people don't really taste their treat after the third bite. I've learned to be satisfied with regular small doses od chocolate. For me, a kiss a day keeps the binges away.

It works for my DH, too. He eats one square of a dark chocolate bar every day and doesn't look for any of the milk chocolate.

Great way to have that treat in a controlled way! And so important to savor the experience....I have a bad habit of wolfing down my food, and really try to be mindful of my meals now, and enjoy those bites...

    Sweet idea!!!

Food in general has to be savored. It really helps. We tend to enjoy the first few bites of any food we eat.

Great idea. HUGS

Great idea! I too, allow myself to try a bite of many different dishes.... if I really, really want it, I'll eat more, but the majority of the time, the bite is all I need or want! Have a great day!

Good idea!! I usually have half of square of dark chocolate Ghiardelli square once a week for lunch. I break all of them in half so I am not tempted to eat the whole thing. We all have to find what works for us to satsify those cravings!!!
