So this will be a quickie!
Here is what I learned about myself during the month of no cost exercise, and I think it really probably applies to most or all of us:
When it comes to a fitness routine, if you find something that works for you, STICK WITH IT!
I, for many reasons, decided to try to forego the classes that had become a regular part of my weekly fitness for the month of April. These are things I enjoy and keep me happily active for 60+ minutes - which for me are basically tennis and ZUMBA.
Here's what I learned (or should I say 're-learned'). For me to get those consistent active chunks in, especially when I am busy and stressed I need to have a CLASS to go to or a friend to meet for tennis, or there's a good chance it won't happen!!
Perhaps if April had not been such a busy and stressful month, I would have had more success, but instead I was behind on my fitness minutes every week.
And gee whiz, it's already May 6th... see how hard it is for me to get back in the saddle? I am stuck in the new 'bad habit' and consequently have let all kinds of other stuff come in and steal my exercise time for the first 6 days of May!
UGH! I feel it in my body, my clothes, and my energy levels. Just generally, I don't feel as well!
So now it's back to the old tried and true!! I will be happily paying for zumba and tennis again starting tomorrow because I am determined to get back up to my 315 minutes/wk!!
Watch me go. There's no looking back!
