Day 52: Crazy Week, Day 1 -- Recap

Tuesday, May 07, 2013

Okay, so today was TOTALLY AWESOME.

I went to the first day of my Spanish immersion class which seriously rocked. So long as my brain doesn't turn to mush in the coming days, by the end of the week, I think I will have made some substantial progress in my learning. Plus it's FUN.

At noon, as scheduled, I went to the gym which was close to my class -- and this was a little surprising -- but during my running sequence for today -- I felt like a superhero (yeah yeah, maybe I have a complex hehe.). Anyway, I felt like I could run forever, well at least a long ways. AND, I even ran quite a bit faster for a large part of two of the three repeats -- something I hadn't done before. Yep. It was awesome.

Ate my powerbar, grapes and cheese stick for lunch -- I've found low calorie, high protein "PureProtein" bars from Costco that are great and quite satisfying without a lot of sugar or fat. So that worked out okay for today.

Went back to spanish immersion until 5pm, then drove to work. (Ran into my boss -- which I was glad for actually to show my face at 5:30). Worked and worked. It ended up being a little crazy (Mondays usually are), so I didn't finish up with everything until about 10:10pm -- BUT, I did some prep work for tomorrow's workload before I left AND I got absolutely everything done that needed to be done today. So that's good. Tomorrow should be a bit lighter (usually Tuesday's aren't quite as busy -- so here's hoping!) Ate a luna bar and an oatmeal snack while at work.

Drove home, just had a frozen dinner and a turkey pepperoni stick -- and hit all my calories/nutrients/etc. Not quite enough water (need to go buy some more distilled water tomorrow).

Tomorrow's plan -- about the same as today, minus the gym. Tomorrow is supposed to be a 'rest day (but cross training is allowed). But I'm going to take an actual rest day -- maybe walk around at lunchtime (it's a two hour break in the middle of the day), although I might decide to drive to work to show my face, but it hardly seems worth it for the amount of driving time (about 25 mins each way) necessary and the short amount of time to actually do anything while there, as a result. Guess I'll decide tomorrow whether or not I should do that.

Lucky for me, class doesn't start until 9am, and it is about a 30 minute drive, so I get to sleep in! woohoo!

Okay, so one day finished in this crazy week and four more to go!

Hope you are having a healthy and active week too!

Sounds like you're dealing well with your "crazy week" so far. emoticon
I always care Pure Protein bars with me - one in my purse or pocket and one in my car. They seem to satisfy me better than any of the others.

The vanilla shakes taste kind of like a vanilla malt, also good.

I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it. I'll be taking a two week language course in Germany starting Monday and I'm a little nervous too. :)

Have you tried the Premier Protein shakes from Costco? 30g protein, 130cal and taste like chocolate milk. Recommend. (And you will have calories left to eat something else, BONUS!)
