I started back at my fitness camp. I did 2 six week camps in the past but what was supposed to be a short break turned into a hiatus. My thinking was that during both camps I was always last on run days, and while everyone was very encouraging I didn't feel very encouraged. My goal was to sit out a camp, and increase my speed (You all know how that turned out). I said enough is enough and rejoined. The camp is 6 or 8 weeks depending on the time of the year but you can choose either option. It is Monday through Friday an hour a day with homework on the weekends. Everyone is placed in a group by color depending on their run time. Every group does the same workout but depending on which group you are in the number of reps or the variation of the exercise changes. Mondays are run days, Thursdays are obstacle course day, and the rest of the week are indoor days. At the start of camp there are several fitness tests that are done again at midpoint, and then again in the end to show each person's progress. The motto of the camp is fitness starts within so you will see improvement before results. Here is a run down of my first week.
Monday-We did the indoor fitness test. Got our weight and fat percentage done along with our before picture, and measurements
2 minute sit-up test=29
2 minute push-up(military)= 10 (my first camp I could not do any and second camp only 3)
1 minute switch kicks= 44
Tuesday- Our 2 mile run,jog,walk whatever you can do. This is done on a very hilly street.
My time was 45:00mins. which has me on team blue. (I was not last, even though now I realize it doesn't matter if I am last as long as I finish)
Wednesday- Upper body with weights
Thursday- Started with us jogging around 2 parking lots to get to where the obstacles were set up.
1st. station: push-ups and tricep dips
2nd. station: walking lunges followed by pop ups
3rd. station: suicides followed by jump ropes
4th. station: run up a flight of stairs run across to the second flight of stairs down those run across and repeat until the whistle is blown to go to the next station
5th station: step ups and taps
This is completed by jogging back through the parking lots back to the studio.
Friday- Total body with weights
