Feeling good about things now.

Thank you to all who helped me put things into proper perspective.

I took advice: I looked at how far I've come.... I've lost 20 lbs!
I broke up the goals into 4 chunks... I am really close to meeting the first one, that will be 25% of my excess weight GONE!

I'm looking and finding motivation in all sorts of places... quotes, pics, music, success stories, sparkfriends... I am on my way!

    I'm glad you're feeling better. 20 pounds is nothing to sneeze at so make sure that you celebrate your accomplishment. Right now I'm focusing on the first 7 pounds I have to lose.

    I am proud of you Renee`and proud for you! I know how hard you have worked and everyone you know is on your side and pulling for and with you.

Wow, 20 lbs is a lot, if you sat a big container on your kitchen counter or floor (so you would have to walk around it) and filled it with 20 lbs of fat or sugar and added a pound each time you lost one you would have a visual of your Accomplishments. Or maybe buy 1 lb cans of Crisco and line or stack them up some were.

    You could also try focusing on small measures you can actually control. You can control what you eat, what you drink, how much you move, and your positive/negative self-talk. Your body controls your weight changes, and only partially based upon on those factors.

Ask yourself: Did I eat healthy foods in good portions today? Did I drink lots of water and little caloric beverages? Did I exercise and move more than I sat sedentary? If you meet these healthy goals daily and weekly, and had more successful days each month than less successful days, then you're doing a good job. Then it's your body's choice about the weight changes. This means putting less emphasis on the scale and more on the parts of your life you can control.
