So the last time I posted a couple of weeks ago, I talked about breaking away from some of my compulsive tendencies. This included counting calories both in and out, blogging, and daily challenges.
Overall, I feel quite successful so far. I still workout every morning religiously, but I don't count calories. Some of the workouts I do may not burn a lot of calories, but by not keeping track, I don't stress myself out to make an afternoon workout. If I get one in, great..if not, well I worked out that morning! Also I feel a lot better about not counting my calories ate. Have I been perfect? No...especially with all my birthday activities last week. But I wasn't perfect counting calories either and by not counting, I'm not beating myself up as much!
Speaking of working out every morning, this past saturday I finished the Beach Body Brazilian Butt Lift series. I've done it before, but never truly focused on the strength training in it. I always used it in addition to my running every day or my insanity which I think it lead me to do it "half assed" Over the four weeks, I've really noticed some definition all over my body. I don't have an extreme amount of weight to lose and toning up really is my main focus and this was GREAT! I do believe if I incorporated more cardio or if the videos had more cardio, I may have seen a huge difference.
Since that program is over now, I have designed my own morning workout schedule that incorporates running and the Nike Training App. The Nike Training App has a lot of strength training like the Brazilian Butt Lift, but it also has a lot of cardio. I'm excited to be running again too. I am going to start off very small and building my way up slowly. I havent consistently run in two years after I hurt my back. I hope to run smart and eventually do some local races.
Overall, things are improving!
