It's good to be home again

Monday, May 06, 2013

We made a trip north of the border to Tucson and a day out in Phoenix where we had some business meetings. I was a little anxious before we left as the night before we were out to dinner with friends. Luckily the dinner didn't do any damage and I left for our trip at 134.3 with a light heart :) Our meals out were pretty much on plan, except for the wonderful bread at Macaroni Grill and Outback Steakhouse and the cinnamon roll and french toast at breakfast..
DH wasn't feeling 100%, a cold and a tummy bug which he kindly shared with me albeit in a mild form, so after a few days I was fine again, DH is still suffering with his cold. We drank tons! of water as it was very dry and dusty in southern AZ - what a change from the mexican sea air!
The good news this morning was that I'm up only 1 pound to 135.3 which is only just above my goal weight :)

My favorite meal was the steak salad at Outback Steakhouse: 6oz sirloin with a salad of lettuce, blue cheese, pecans, and lots of salad fixings

I did get some shopping done, smaller shorts, a cute pair of sandals and a food processor to cut all those veggies for the Plan! I have never one before, so it will be a learning curve :)
I also stocked up on glass storage containers for individual portions and safe microwaving. Some of my old plastic container can now be thrown out, they're pretty tacky after many uses.

Despite not feeling my best, it was a good trip. Had I felt better I may have done some more shopping as it had been 6 months since our last trip and I do miss browsing the shops at times.. The funny thing was that it was all a bit overwhelming - sooo much stuff everywhere and so many choices, where to start.. As usual I found the best shorts at Sams where you can't even try things on. I just went a size smaller than before and it worked out well.

It was great to be home and get a great night's sleep in my own bed! Tucson was noisy between the trains and the wind howling around the motel. Then there is the issue of drinking so much water... doesn't make for a restful sleep either.

There's no place like home :)

That salad looks so good. Now I'm thinking of making that for dinner tomorrow night. Yum! I hope your hubby is doing better now.

Not bad at all on the weight gain. You will say good bye to that pound in no time.
Enjoy the rest of your day.

I think the best part of most trips is getting to sleep in my own bed again. Glad you had fun and some good finds.
