This past Saturday was our Missourians Team Spring Rally.
A special thanks to our planning committee:
These ladies are the reason, the push, the driving force on the Make It Happen program. A HUGE Thanks to them for making this rally a reality!
We heard back from many people who were unable to attend due to previous commitments. Kudos to all of you who were able to get out and enjoy your weekend, enjoying life. Whether at another 5K, graduations - whatever it may have been - though we missed you, we were glad that you were making the most of the weekend!
We had 4 in attendance, with another SP hopeful joining us at the 5K. Our rally kicked off with a Cinco De Mayo 5K, with proceeds benefiting the Council for Drug Free Youth. The event raised $25,000 towards the cause.
It was a bit chilly initially, so we bundled up (too much even! ha) and off we went!
We did stay dry during our 5K. Everyone finished in under an hour! Okay, I was hoping at least to finish in under an hour, which I did. Everyone else was waaaaaaaaaaay under an hour haha! Our very own Oakborn even took a medal in her class!!
You can read more of their accounts of the event on their blogs.
After the 5K, we regrouped at my home outside of California, for a potluck and socialization. We shared our stories, our journey, our hopes, our goals - it was very inspirational and I admire & learned a lot from each of these ladies. We also shared some great food and exchanged recipes.
For those who were able to stay longer, we enjoyed a little horseback ride around the pond.
A couple were able to spend the entire weekend and that was Awesome! I enjoyed having everyone - for as little or as long as they could stay. I loved the fellowship and camaraderie that we all shared. I am looking forward to many more Spark Rallies and Get-togethers, whether Organized or completely disorganized ... it's all good!!
