Trying Harder!

Monday, May 06, 2013

I'm determine to beat this weight battle. I've been hitting the gym hard working out everyday, I have to admit I haven't been eating food only very little at a time. Believe it or not I don't think about food anymore and exactly some days I don't eat at all. In my mind, I think its OK because I have so much weight to lose. I'm reaching out right now because every day I step on the scale and if I don't see the number it makes me go even harder in the gym. My son keeps telling me that muscle weighs more then fat and that he see the difference in my body. BUT I DON'T! emoticon

Slow down a little. I worked with a woman who was determined to lose weight for her son's wedding, so she ate only lettuce. She ended up in the hospital. You do not want that to happen. You should be getting at least about 12,000 calories a day...or check out SP's recommendation for you.

It's great to be working out so much, but you can even work out too much. Avoid the extremes. Cut back in your food portions, but you do have to eat enough every day. Get in 30-60 minutes of exercise each day.

emoticon i think anita gave you some great advice as far as needing to keep eating; i know how hard and confusing it can be though when you have a lot to lose. For me, I'm trying to learn more about balance rather than extremes ... I hope you can find that also and find what works for you- including being able to eat. emoticon

Don't get discourage and your son he is so right.. also celebrate the Non scale victories such as inches lost.. sometimes when we do not see weight loss we lose inches, how does your close feel? are they lose? how about your rings on your fingers are they loser ? if so those are tell tell signs of inches ..

also Don't skip meals.. your body will go into starvation mode, and it will not lose weight I use to say to my self I had enough fat on me to keep me fed for a year, not the case you need to fuel your body, think of your body as a car, if you wanted to take a trip right now you would have to put gas in the car drive to your destination but wait you used all that gas so guess what you need to put more in.. that is what your body needs..
keep up the good work.. you can do it..

Speaking as someone who wanted to give up as recently as this morning...I feel ya but I have to tell you even if I do give up eating right, I never give up the exercise portion because it makes me feel so much better... I am less stressed less agitated....You are doing exercising everyday...I think maybe you need to back up from the scale and not weight every day and maybe once a week...of course you do you....but if your boy is telling you he see a difference he see a might want to take a picture today and in a few weeks, take another and you might see what he never know....but above all things Do not give up...Our health is at stake...

someone just this morning helped me see that and I hope I help you to see the same thing...

This you if you keep going...

It ain't over till its over....

I think the battle can get us down sometimes, but don't give up! There is an old song from the 70s by the Imperials called Bread on the Water. I just listened to it yesterday and part of the song says this:

    Well there are people
    Never receiving
    Anything from God at all
    Oh, they are shaken
    From their believing
    When they don't see results
    They quickly fall

    But don't you waver
    Keep on living
In the way God wants you to
    Don't get discouraged
    Keep on giving
Soon it will come back to you

    Keep on casting
    Your bread upon the water
Soon it's gonna come back home on every wave
    Keep on casting
    Your bread upon the water
Soon it's gonna come back home on every wave
    Good measure pressed down
    Shaken together running over
Soon it's gonna come back home on every wave

I hope we keep on casting our bread upon the water.

In time, you will see the results of your hard work!
