We are enjoying a beautiful morning in mid-Mo and are actually seeing some sunshine. The run went well this morning as it is getting to be almost one month from the day of my first marathon. this week will be rather lax for me as far as distance goes. it was actually a run where i didn't push myself as much as i normally do. i am taking the advice of a friend who has run in about a dozen of these races as to how prepare myself physically and mentally for at least a four-hour race.

Blessings upon each of you this morning.

It is awesome that you are running your first marathon! My hubby just signed up for his first Half Marathon, the end of September, and he contacted Compassion International about running the race for them. You can get informational materials & videos from them to share with your faith family, and raise money for your run that you donate directly to Compassion. I just love their organization. We sponsor a little girl my daughter's age down in Guatemala through them, and last year we did some Christmas gifts through them, too. Fresh water for a family for their lifetimes, and garden seeds to supply a family with food & income, too. It's SUCH an amazing organization, releasing people from poverty in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

I think the thing with marathons and any big distance race, is the mental stuff. For me anyway, my brain gets in the way a lot!
Keep going!
