I thought you all might like to know I survived my blood work this weekend – surprise! Haha. Thank you all for your tips and tricks. I was in such a bad spot, mentally, on Friday. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Never known a blood test to kill someone but it would sure be nice if they made me stronger!
Friday night my BF and I went to eat dinner at this little café by our house where you can sit outside. I had a turkey burger, no bread, and a few fries. I was so nervous I couldn’t really bring myself to eat. Saturday we got up and went up to the blood place… or where it used to be. Want to make a needle nervous person freak out even more? Move your location and don’t tell anybody. Turns out the Labcorp moved about two weeks ago and I had to scramble to find the new location. They ended up taking me right back and the lady said I was the first person she’d seen use their new lie-down table haha. I didn’t pass out, I did drop some severe language, but the woman was really funny and nice about it. My arm STILL hurts today (what is that about?!) but I am glad it is over with.
BF got me a skylite snowball afterwards to boost my sugar, and we checked out a flea market. We decided to head down to try out this new craft brewery that opened in the city. Long story short, between recovering from the anxiety/blood and this little beer jaunt, neither one of us felt that great Saturday night. Oops.
Yesterday we did a serious spring cleaning and ran some errands. As we pull back into our parking lot, I see MY OLD CAR. I was like… that’s my car, that my mom just sold, right back where it came from! My mom had sold my old car to a friend of hers that doesn’t even live in our county, who then evidently gave the car to her daughter – who lives IN OUR BUILDING. How weird is that?!?! My BF was like “It missed you so much, it came back to you!” SO CREEPY!!!!!!! I mean, what are the odds?!?!?!?!
Anyways, last night we picked up some crabs and ate them on our deck with some coronas and forgot that it was Sunday for a little while. We just got a little glider for our deck so we just sat out there rocking and talking last night. It was nice.
I got pretty awful quality sleep all weekend, so I am dragging a bit today. I switched up my usual breakfast of chobani and oatmeal and tried rice cakes with a little PB & banana today. It has really kept me full so far, I think it is a winner! I have training through lunch today and I am meeting my sister for dinner tonight. We’re trying to find something healthy out and about, we might meet up at Panera. Point being – today is going to be one of those days where I just try to keep myself in line nutritionally and probably won’t work out. It happens. I think I really need to have this long serious conversation with my sister and if I have to forego a workout for it, so be it.
I also noticed this morning that the farm stand on my way home from work is almost open! I have been waiting for this! I can’t wait to stop off on my way home and get fresh local veggies!
That is where I am today. Now that my blood work is done, I’m sitting here like “Wonder what the results will be!” – my brain is never satisfied?! I am really curious to see where things like my thyroid levels and my cholesterol levels are. Hopefully I will find out this week!
Besides that, I have my lunches & dinners planned out, I am about to mark off gym time on my calendar, and I’m hoping to make this a great week. I hope you do too!
