A cooking weekend

Monday, May 06, 2013

My last blog I wrote was angry and I deleted it. Had reached my limit on my job. So I told him I want out sooner then later. So May 15th is the date. Scott is kinda nervous about that, since it is our income loss if I leave before I have another job. So I agreed to apply for jobs 1 hr a night while he studies programming during the same hour lol I applied for 2 last night. We shall see what happens!

I did a lot of cooking this weekend. I love all the fresh veggies available suddenly. I am tearing through my cook book. Yesterday I flipped though and found stuff I had available in the house and made lunch and dinner that way. As I go I will have to go get more ingredients I would never usually purchase. But you never know what you might like til you try it!

Here is my photos since I posted last.

Day 96: Stretching technique. She is 1 yr old this week. She has stayed sooooo tiny, probably 5-6 lbs. But don't tell her, she plays with 13 lb Joel like she's his size.

Day 97: Rain barrel full and so are all my milk jugs.

Day 98: I attempt making my own PB and almond butter. You roast the nuts on a cookie sheet for 10 minutes at 375. Then throw them in the food processor still warm. You gotta grind them for about 10 minutes, but it happens eventually. Then clean up is about 10 minutes lol I always thought u had to add oil, but nope nothing. I wonder if they do add oil in factories. Cuz mine doesn't separate like theirs does.

Day 99: My army of baby onions are coming!

Day 100: Indian Potato Salad and cilantro omelet. 3rd recipe from my book.

Day 101: Summer Panzanella, 4th recipe from my book. Thank goodness for frozen baguettes in the deep freezer and buying 4 lbs of bruised tomatoes earlier in the week.

Time to bike to work! Have a good week you guys!

I sure hope you find a fantastic job, Julie! I know if I had a business I would love to have you for an employee.

I need to have a cooking day. My meals are getting really stale. I am sick of chicken.

My Maynard who was the runt of the litter stayed at 5-6 pounds all his life. He was the toughest cat in the neighborhood though and didn't put up with the bigger cats bullying him.

Loved the pictures! The food looked delicious.
