Services this morning were great. DH and I unloaded a bunch of boxes of books for the free give away at 4 pm. I stayed and sorted and gave away books until Bible study at 5 pm and then we watched a segment of Dr. Ray Vander Laan's Faith Lessons "Standing at the Crossroads". In it he described the tell at Gezer and the standing stones that were places to commemorate a happening. The question was what do our lives commemorate and what do we as living stones show the world. And if this is all I got from this day I am ok with that and now to the sack I go.
As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him— you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For in Scripture it says:
“See, I lay a stone in Zion,
a chosen and precious cornerstone,
and the one who trusts in him
will never be put to shame.”
1 Peter 2:4-6
God bless us to stand as living stones to Your glory.
