Good food day again today.
This morning I made myself some pancakes and I ate them with molasses.
To me, molasses has always been a healthy fare-better than syrup on pancakes or bread.
But this morning, I understood other wise.
Like 20 minutes after eating , I had an intense sugar rush.
My heart started racing, I started feeling sick and I was talking a millions miles a minute!
I knew it wasn't good,because sugar rush means sugar crash.
While going to church, I started feeling really cranky and irritable.
But I knew what was going on, and I had brought a snack with me (We go really early to church and I knew I would have time to eat before the service started).
So I had my snack of cottage cheese, pineapple,flax seeds and some walnuts.
It's a good thing because I was not feeling well.
All day I felt off, and had times I felt exhausted, even if I ate well.
It made me realize how sugar played a role in my moods and my energy.
Even if I knew it affected me before......this made it so much more real.
Another incentive to eat well!!!!
I tried to run a 5K again today, but I think I need to rethink my route.
I was really tired and thirsty and I did not feel well, so I took a shortcut through the woods.
I still had some cardio because I did it more than 1/2 way, but going through the woods back to my house was cheating a little.
I'll try harder next time!
At least the dog enjoyed it!
