I'm Going to do This

So far in my fitness journey, I have been inconsistent with exercising and eating healthy. I'm not too worried about the eating part as I rarely overeat and the really bad foods don't taste that great, anyways, but I would like to add more fruits and vegetables.

My main area of needed improvement will be motivation. I have to find ways to motivate myself to get up and do some exercises. My mom and I are teaming up and we would like to run a 5K eventually...once we are both able to go the distance.

Through SparkPeople, I have started the Rookie training for a 5K and I'm loving it so far. I'm wanting to do Day 3 already, but that doesn't come until tomorrow. I have found a love in this specific training but I'm already wanting to overdo it. I need to find something else for the four other days of the week.

My main goal, for now, is to keep with this program and to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into my diet.

MRSAND, I actually like strength training, so that part is easy for me. I just love the feeling of running and wish I could do more!

    You are doing great! It's fine to do some walking on the other 4 days. I did the 5k training back in the fall & walked on non-training days. And adding some strength like yoga or resistance training or just doing some squats, lunges, pushups, planks on off days is awesome too. (Doing my strength is my weak point but I'm getting better about it.)

It's awesome that your mom can do this with you! Keep it up!
