Day 58 Juicing and Greek Easter

Scale moved down .6 for a total of 39.6!!!
.4 to reach the mini goal and 2 days to cross the finish line!!!!

Glad to see the scale still go down after the exciting day I had yesterday. We were so tired we went to bed and skipped midnight mass and with that the celebrating that ensues. :)
Today the parents came by with our red eggs, which we cracked :D and mom and dad ate them. I kept mine for next week :D They are now over at the restaurant eating Lamb, tsoureki, spanakopita, Lamb, soup, xtipiti, octopus, Lamb, calamari, melitzanosalata, and did I mention LAMB??? It's not that I am not missing all those things (especially the lamb) but when I saw Phil Staples do this and succeed I knew I could too. I just knew I had to say No to many things and Events. Easter was a hard one. But had my sis and the support of the parents who can't believe our transformations.

Discussing the change of plans with sis we have some kinks to work out. Her body works so much more efficiently than mine so she can have all sorts of foods that won't cause triggers and can make her spiral out of control. Mine on the other hand is a bit more finicky. She thinks that we should have at least once a week were we eat things that are off limit so our bodies don't go into shock and totally out of control when we fall prey to them LOL. She has a point but I am really nervous. I still have a way to go to reach my goal. She is only 11lbs away. It makes a difference. So I have more thinking and compromising to do.

    Revived- Offices are so bad. I know I have posted on many of my blogs that I have avoided going in the office and I definitely have skipped all the meetings LOL. If you can keep in mind that 30 or 60 days from now you will be in a much better place... then believe me its worth going through the pain and suffering of denying yourself the "goodies" Trust that by the end of this journey your eating habits will be changed. And you are still in the first few weeks. I kept on dreaming of big fat juicy steaks especially right as I was falling asleep. LOL it gets better. Just push juices and water. And if you can step away for a few it does help!
You are doing an awesome job!

    Thank you Mountains2Climb. I have done ok during previous times but then again I had no idea how sensitive my body was to these ingredients. So I did ok during treat times, but I am sure it had something to do with sudden weight loss an cravings about 3-5 days later. It will be trial and error. Not sure if I would try this during the month break from fast or wait till I after I do a second round.

    This was good for me right now cuz I've been having to pass up on things. It would be so easy to give in but so far I haven't. PTO brought in chicken biscuits for everyone at work today. It was so hard to say no. And then later someone put white cheddar popcorn in the break room. I LOVE white cheddar popcorn. Plus our anniversary is in 2 weeks and I'm a little depressed thinking about not going out to a nice dinner. I'm trying to remind myself that all that food is still going to be around when I get done. Right now I'm focusing on this. It's still really hard though. I think about food constantly! Ugh!

    It's tough to decide whether "treat days" are something that works for you or not. It works for me as long as I get my treat outside the house. If I bring food in the house, I'm going to eat it! (and have...)

    SimCyn, one of the bad things of being Greek is the foods. They are loaded with all the processed white refined carbs. And they are Delicious. My favorite dish is Pastitsio au gratin ( Spaghetti with holes -like spaghetti straws) with eggs and cheeses and backed to perfection ... OMG... if you put the beshamel sauce on top even better. I won't go into more details. I come from a family of great cooks and anything we make is amazing LOL. I am hoping the skill will transfer to make modified dishes and veggie ones. *sigh*
And thank you, I do feel blessed. Greek families are very close knit and the traditions do support that. Darn- so does the food.

No I don't have a steak yet because I have to wait at least a week or 2 to introduce red meats and if its in here I will cook it and eat it. with butter. and onions. and hot sauce. *drooling*

  BTW, the list of foods are totally Greek to me. LOL. I have never had lamb and only recently have I had calamari just because there was on closeout and so it was cheap. I envy you that you can have your family and roots so close. You are blessed.

  I agree with CAMA, I myself wouldn't have a day of foods that are triggers. I'm afraid that I would go back to bad eating if I did. Nutritionist say all things in moderation, but I don't believe that for me that is possible.

So do you have that steak bought and ready to marinade? You have done so well. I'm proud of you.

    Support from family and friends is great but you know you and your body best and what works for her may not be the best for you. I find treat days don't work for me as I never know when to stop!!!
