Garden Pictures

Sunday, May 05, 2013

We are building a garden railroad. Here are some pictures of the layout. And some others that I am enjoying this spring. We don't have any of the track down as of yet but we are getting there. I'll post as we progress. We still have to buy a bridge to go over the stream that feeds into the pond but we will order that soon.

this is a side yard view of one of the tunnels.

this is the stream that the trestle bridge will go over.

this is the other side of the sidewalk. We will have 3 different trains running at some point.

I think that my azealas are the prettiest I seen in a long time.

this is my peony tree. I just love this "tree". It gets prettier every year.

So these are the pictures and as we progress, I'll post more.

Love these! Told DH we'll have to take a road trip so he can see the train in action and get photos. He loves the idea of course. Can't wait!!!

Is the pink ground cover over the stream "mountain pink"? I had that at the house I grew up in until my step-mom decided to rip it out, I love that stuff!

    Oh Pat ... WOW !!

So, I am humming "I've been working on the railroad" and Alan is standing over my shoulder drooling down my back over these pictures emoticon

Alan says he looks forward to seeing how his (Oooops, he means your) train layout plans come along emoticon

The azaleas do look gorgeous. We did quite a bit of work this weekend and the yard is looking a little more Summer-y here, too.

I have never heard of a garden railroad.
My grandson and I anxiously await further developments.
Your garden looks amazing.
Is that a garden shed with the porch?

Very cool idea-looks like a lot of work. I miss azaleas, it's too cold for them here.
