It's amazing how the weather affects me. 30 degrees F. in December is great! It's expected and feels warm then. 30 degrees F. in May is another thing completely.
When it stays this cold for this long it really starts to dampen my mood and I just don't want to do anything. When it starts to get warmer, then I feel the need to move again. It was hard getting 5000 steps yesterday, but it's already warmer this morning than it was yesterday afternoon. I like going out between 50 and 75 degrees, those are the best temperatures!
Last week I managed to go just around 3 miles twice because of the great weather! I'm hoping that the warming weather will allow me to go farther again this week! I like seeing 10,000 steps!
The warmer weather will allow for gardening! I'm looking forward to fresh garden veggies! I'm hoping this last cold spell didn't freeze any of the plants I did put outside.
Warmer weather makes it so much easier to do the things that help keep me fit! Things are fresh and growing and that makes it easier to eat the lower-calorie high-vitamin meals! It seems that everyone comes out the use the park as a form of recreation, I saw someone training for a marathon (she was going farther faster and stayed out as long as me) and a few other people I hadn't seen before in addition to the regular people I see frequently.
Getting outside makes most people feel better because soaking up the sun allows your body to produce Vitamin D. I know I always feel better after a good walk in the park!
I'm just hoping that there will be more nice days in the week to come to make up for this extended winter we've been having. I know many people are having a hard time with the lack of sunshine and cold weather. I think we've had way too much shoveling experience this year. I guess that's making up for the nice weather we had last winter.
